cookbook creation competition "delicious, healthy, unique and safe food"

The "Business and Education Partnership" Foundation (BEG) implements the German "Vocational Education and Training (VET) - Cooperation in the South Caucasus" program within the framework of cooperation with the Federal Regional Economic Training Center of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. The purpose of the project is to promote the employment of young people in Armenia by providing support in the selection of their vocational education, to contribute to the increase of their competitiveness in the labor market through secondary vocational education.

In the framework of the German "Vocational Education and Training (VET)-Cooperation in the South Caucasus" program, in 2021, a cookbook creation competition under the title "Delicious, healthy, unique and safe food" was launched jointly with the Ministry of Education and Culture, providing primary (craft) and secondary vocational education. among students of educational institutions.

The purpose of the competition was to increase the interest of young people in the profession of chef and to promote professional orientation. as well as to create a cookbook from the recipes of the best dishes presented by the participants, which can later be an auxiliary manual for students of the department of cooking.

CONTEST ORGANIZATION TERMS

Young people aged 14-24 who are creative and can present recipes for new, unique dishes could participate in the competition. Participation in the competition could be both individual and group.

The competition was held in 3 categories:

"HEALTH RECIPE"

"SAFE RECIPE"

"Delicious recipe"

  • Those who wish could participate in all nominations, presenting one recipe each.
  • The dishes had to be a personal creation of the participant/participant group: a dish prepared according to an author's recipe or a unique modified version of a well-known recipe.
  • Participants had to submit a step-by-step/step-by-step description of the preparation of each dish with photos.
  • It was necessary to mark each presented dish.

— type and name,

— description of the dish in 1-2 paragraphs,

— the recipe of the dish written in Armenian,

— the list of ingredients according to the amount needed for 1 part,

— a step-by-step/step-by-step photographic description of the cooking process: at least 3 and no more than 9 photos.

The evaluation of the materials submitted for the participation in the competition and the selection of the winners was made by the competition committee. on August 17. The tender committee was composed of representatives of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of the Republic of Armenia, the National Center for the Development of Secondary Vocational Education, the "Business and Education Partnership" Foundation, the employer and the VET institution.

52 students of 8 vocational training institutions from different marzes participated in the competition.

The VET institutions that participated in the competition are:

  6. Hrazdan Vocational State School, director: Saribekyan Andranik,
  7. Shirak Regional State College, director's name: Anush Khurshudyan,
  8. H. of Vanadzor Tumanyan State University College, director: Lokyan Arevik.

After studying the materials submitted to the competition, the competition commission made an evaluation and made a report on the results.

The assessment was carried out according to nominations, according to pre-developed standards, with a 5-point rating system, where 5 was the highest and 1 was the lowest.

The competition categories are:

"SAFE RECIPE"

"HEALTH RECIPE"

"Delicious recipe".

On September 7, Erebuni Plaza Business Center hosted the presentation of the results of the cookbook competition under the title "Delicious, healthy, unique and safe food" and the awarding ceremony of the winners. Ute Fock, head of the "Vocational Education and Training (VET) - cooperation in the South Caucasus" program of the German Federation, also participated in the event. Marine Zhamkochian, head of the "VET-cooperation in the South Caucasus" program, made a speech of welcome, noting that the organization of various competitions dedicated to secondary vocational education for students of VET institutions, as well as school students, has become one of the important components of the program's activities.

Mrs. Fok welcomed the young people participating in the competition, emphasizing the organization of events aimed at encouraging and guiding professional education among young people.

The participants of the event were presented with the procedure of organizing the competition and the VET institutions participating in the competition. Then the awards were presented.

Winners were recognized by the competition committee according to nominations

"SAFE recipe" - the 4th team of Gyumri state vocational school No. 4: Grigor Mardoyan and Samvel Nalbandyan, - with the recipe of "Red salad" fruit and vegetable salad,

"HEALTHY RECIPE" - 1st team of Hrazdan Vocational State College: Zozanyan Arman, Hunanyan Henrik and Sargsyan Vahe, - with "Tanapur" and "Pokhindz or Vakhind" recipes.

"Delicious recipe" - Yerevan N. The team of Regional State College No. 2 named after Achemyan: Zargaryan Levon, Grigoryan Hunan, Hovhannisyan Robert, Andreasyan Hrachya, - "Aghtsan Sevan", "Forest Beauty", "Avelukov Roll", "Pastry with Pancakes", "Ishkhan Kotayk", "Pork Roast" With recipes "Yeghegnadzor", "Ghapama with quince", "Pate Mix", "Profitrol "Mix".

  3. JURY'S SURPRISE PRIZE - Students of Shirak Regional State College: Khachatryan Tatev, Gaspar Petrosyan, Lyusya Hakobyan and Harutyunyan Hambardzum, with the "Surprise Boat" recipe.
  4. JURY COMPETITION - Students of Ararat State College: Gharibyan Tamara, with the answers "Chocolate", "Vegetable salad", "Vegetable and veal casserole", "Stuffed teat",
  5. FAIRY TALE COMPONENTS - Students of Ararat Regional State College: Mkrtchyan Astghik, Mnatsakanyan Guksit, Petrosyan Narine, Vardanyan Araksya, Gevorgyan Manuk and Poghosyan Ashot, - with the recipe "It happens, it doesn't happen".
  6. COOKING CHALLENGE - Vanadzori H. Tumanyan State University college students: Kosyan Edmond, Mary Baghdasaryan, Sardaryan Mane and Inessa Tsaturyan, with recipes for "Salad with prunes" and "Cocktail Eskimo".

All participants of the competition were awarded certificates and gifts.

A Master Class was organized by the chef of DargettBrewpub for the students who created the winning recipes in the "SAFE recipe", "HEALTHY recipe" and "DELICIOUS recipe" categories.

The employer, as an "Employer's Sympathy", award was also given by "Blizzard" catering service company.

Incentive prizes were awarded to all participants of the competition.

Students participating in the competition and directors of VET institutions shared their impressions.

After the master class, five students received a job offer from the chef.
