The "Business and Education Partnership" (BEG) Foundation launched a series of professional orientation and career guidance events under the title "Open Door Month" in a number of RA regions within the framework of the German "Vocational Education and Training (VET) - Cooperation in the South Caucasus" program.
The events were launched in 2021. on April 9 in Shirak region. A professional orientation tour was organized at Gyumri Vocational State School No. 4 for students and teachers of schools in Jrashen and Saratak communities of Shirak marz. During the tour, the students got acquainted with the professions taught at the school, the handicrafts made by the students, visited educational workshops. M. Zhamkochian, the president of the BKG Foundation, the head of the German "VET-Cooperation in the South Caucasus" project, presented to the students and teachers the "Healthy Generation", "Beautiful Hair", "Eco-friendly bags" created in the school since 2019 with the support of the German "VET-Cooperation in the South Caucasus" program. ", "National Souvenirs", "Arevot Shirak" student companies, in which students acquire practical entrepreneurial skills and abilities, get the opportunity to implement business ideas, to enter the labor market later with entrepreneurial knowledge and experience.
Ute Fok, the head of the German "MCU-cooperation in the South Caucasus" program, followed the event remotely, who made a speech of welcome. He noted that the "Student/student companies" created with the support of the "Business and Education Partnership" foundation are an incentive to evaluate VET education and its role in the development of society, contribute to the development of entrepreneurial thinking and activity skills of students and pupils. He expressed hope that similar programs and events will continue and expand their geography.
Professional orientation events are also organized in Lori region by the Lori Regional State College with the support of the BKG Foundation, as well as in the Vayots Dzor region by the Vayots Dzor Regional State College.
