VISIT TO MAGDEBURG WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF GIZ PROJECT “PRIVATE SECTOR DEVELOPMENT IN SOUTH CAUCASUS”

GIZ in Armenia is implementing project funded by the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development of the Federal Republic of Germany.

The main goal of the project is to enhance the economic development through the competitive growth of the private sector from 2014-2017.

The program supports the upgrading and development of VET proposals which are market oriented and demanded by the private sector.

Within the framework of the project “Master classes in TVET for 3 countries of South Caucasus” 6 months’ international practical training courses for leaders were developed.

The training is implemented in collaboration with GIZ International Academy in Magdeburg, Germany, and the University of Otto von Guericke.

The aim of the training is to improve professional skills, competences and knowledge of specialists of TVET for further activities.

Upon successful completion of the training the participants will receive credits that are accredited by European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System. The credits can further be used for getting international Master’s Degree on TVET at a shorter period of time.

To ensure the stability and continuation of the program, a workshop was organized for the representatives from higher educational institutions and VET sector of three countries of South Caucasus in Magdeburg from 6-10 of July.

Specialist of GIZ International Academy and the University of Otto von Guericke introduced Master’s programs and international experience for preparing specialists of TVET. The vision and the current situation of HR development in TVET of each country were discussed at the workshop.

The participants of the project were representatives from the Ministry of Education and Science of RA, National Institute of Education, National Centre for VET Development and Yerevan State University of Languages and Social Sciences after Valeri Brusov.
