Tangible results in the field of inclusive professional education

Today, a social enterprise was officially opened at the Armavir State College of Arts, which is the result of the "Professional education and employment for young people with disabilities" project funded by the European Union and implemented by the Armenian office of the "Save the Children" organization.

The event was attended by Ambassador Pyotr Svitalsky, Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, Ashot Ghahramanyan, Head of Armavir Marz, RA Deputy Minister of Education and Science Vahram Mkrtchyan, RA Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Tadevos Avetisyan, employees of the sector, college students.

Students of Armavir State College of Arts welcomed the guests with national dance and patriotic songs.

After the ceremonial opening of the printing house, the guests gathered in the hall, where the VET reform forum was held.

Head of the EU delegation, Ambassador Pyotr Svitalsky, RA Armavir Marz Governor Ashot Ghahramanyan, RA Deputy Minister of Education and Science Vahram Mkrtchyan, RA Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Tadevos Avetisyan made speeches.

Nune Muradyan, director of Armavir State College of Arts, also took part. He gave a detailed presentation about the work carried out within the "Vocational Education and Employment for Youth with Disabilities" program of the college. He noted that within the framework of this project, a printing house was established in the Armavir State College of Arts, which was renovated and adapted for people with disabilities. 40 young people with disabilities participated in training courses at Armavir State College of Arts. Five of the students are already working in the printing house of the social enterprise.

With the grant program of "Save the Children", short-term courses were also implemented for young people with disabilities in Armavir in order to implement inclusive professional education and ensure the physical accessibility of the institution, thus supporting their professional skills development and job placement.

The goal of the project is to improve the efficiency and employment of the Armenian labor market, paying special attention to the promotion of employment in the agricultural sector. It has achieved tangible results in creating equal employment opportunities for young people with disabilities by promoting social innovation in post-secondary education and training.
