Artak Aghbalyan, Head of the Department of Primary and Secondary Vocational Education of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Science of the Republic of Armenia, referred to online learning
In Armenia, 101 institutions implement primary and secondary professional educational programs. If the teaching of theoretical subjects can be organized online, then, for example, organizing the training practice of a future winemaker, cook, hairdresser or jeweler becomes a serious problem.
"We tried to solve this problem through video clips. This cannot completely replace the practical work that they would do at the employer, but the professors tried to transfer certain skills to the children in different professions through these videos. I can't say that we closed that field 100 percent, there were even deviations from the curriculum, but we tried to do what was possible," says Artak Aghbalyan, head of the Department of Primary and Secondary Vocational Education of the Ministry of Education and Culture.
At the end of March, the Ministry of Education and Culture started collecting computer devices, because according to the minister, 24 thousand teachers and students do not have computers and other necessary equipment. Artak Aghbalyan says that it is not the teachers, but the students who face this problem more in VET institutions. 3-4 thousand students, mainly regional and socially disadvantaged, do not have the appropriate technical means to participate in remote classes. mediamax.am
