In cooperation between business women and VET institutions

2021 On February 26, the "Business and Education Partnership" Foundation (BEG) organized a workshop within the framework of the German "Vocational Education and Training (VET)-Cooperation in the South Caucasus" program with the participation of female directors of VET institutions and female entrepreneurs in the fields of food, light industry, information technology, from jewelry, construction, tourism, agriculture, maintenance/services sectors. The representative of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia participated in the workshop.

Marine Zhamkochian, the president of the BCG Foundation and the head of the "VET-cooperation" project, presented to the workshop participants the importance of the role of dialogue between education and business in the development of the VET sector. He noted that the workshop aims to contribute to the creation of the labor market-professional education connection, the formation of dialogue between women entrepreneurs and VET institutions, the exchange of experience, as well as the expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation in the preparation of specialists with secondary vocational education.

The results of the study and exchange visits of dual education experience organized in Germany for companies and directors of VET institutions within the framework of the German "VET-cooperation" program were presented. Both employers and directors of VET institutions best implemented the acquired knowledge and experience in their institutions. In particular, as a result of the courses conducted for employers, students' internships were carried out in organizations, with the opportunity for the employer to pay students, as well as in order to develop the entrepreneurial mindset and abilities of students, based on the German model, pilot "Student companies" were created in several VET institutions, in various specialties, and "Student companies" for the creation of solar panels as a new profession in Gyumri Vocational School No. 4.

At the workshop, as a result of group work between companies and VET institutions, the existing problems in the VET sector were highlighted and suggestions for their solution were given.

2020 by the "Business and Education Partnership" Foundation was also presented at the workshop. the results of the analysis of the needs of the professional staff carried out during the year, as well as the measures and actions planned in the "MCU-cooperation" program in 2021.
